Dark Ride - A futuristic art exhibit like no other.

The Voyage

Let's take you on a little trip. You've watched the media presentations, and now you are ready to become a Dark Ride Project voyager. Sit down in the Sensory Integrator and relax. The cover hood has lowered. Notice that you can only see in front of you. Are you ready? You are moving. Don't worry, it is being steered for you. As you view the art in front of you, you suddenly feel yourself going physically into it.

It is getting darker now, and the chair is turning- no, you are going up- in fact, you are a bit confused. But there is a colorful shape to focus on now. It is getting larger and larger. Suddenly another one pops into view, then another, and another. Now you are very, very, close to one. In fact, you can probably touch it, or can you? You are being taken through some shapes, and now around, and now to pause. Lights change, or do the shapes change? Music and colorful, light shapes fill your mind. Has it been a few seconds, or a few minutes? You are being taken into another space, where the shapes grow all around you. Instead of shapes in space, the forms surround you; you see shapes within the shapes and they get more and more complex. Suddenly you are moving out of range, and a strange new 'landscape' appears with sculptural forms resting at various angles to you.

It's like being in a mini-sub, explorIng the depths of a wondrous new world beneath the sea. You see more colors, more atmosphere; you feel you are coming back - or are you just discovering a new world? You can feel the ground. You are being taken through and around this landscape, gazing at strange images but now you are comfortable with them. More varied sculptural elements enter your field of vision. The light suddenly changes, it is no longer dark but very bright. The shapes are dark in front of an almost arctic landscape. You see creatures- some even human like. But gradually they become more different. Now you see real people looking at the shapes with you. You become aware that you are indeed back, but where? No music or sounds now, but the friendly voice returns to tell you some interesting details, now that you've had the experIence. Finally, you see the end- it's like the end of a roller coaster ride- and you are at the same time anxious to get out to compare your experience to that of walking through normally and still you want to experience the ride again. First you plan to explore the garden trails of light where others were walking. Spend as much time as you wish and venture in the Purity Vacuum! As you continue your journey throughthe exhibition paths, you know you will ride through again in the Sensory Integrator.
